Wow it has been a long time since I have updated. Part of me wants to try to catch up whoever may read this, if anyone does, with all that has gone on in the past three months. And the other part of me is getting tired and doesn’t feel like trying to remember all that has gone on.
Basically my life sucked. I had an aweful time trying to keep up with student teaching, going to class, planning a wedding, applying for jobs, etc. BUT now life is awesome! I have time to plan my wedding! I have graduated from WSU with 2 degrees, it only took me 8 yrs I am done student teaching, and I got a job! I have my first “real” job, the kind with a decent salary. I will be teaching high school art, ceramics/sculpture and intro. I am very excited! I am getting excited about my wedding too, just a bit nervous about getting everyone paid and everything organized.
I am so glad I got a laptop for my birthday/christmas. I am not sure what I would do in this class if I did not have it. Plus it makes taking notes so much easier. Tonight is just one of those nights that I could not graduate faster. I think the whole basis behind this class is just to share what we wrote about the readings we all had to read.
I had an amazing weekend! Friday was very stressful for many reasons. So, David and I splurged and went to PF Changs for dinner. It was exactly what both of us needed. I was also excited because I ran into little bean, and she was excited to sing at my wedding. One more step done towards the wedding Then Saturday we kept Travis overnight. We took him to Chuck E Cheese. He loved it. We all had an awesome time eating pizza and playing games. Then this morning we took him to the donut whole for breakfast. Then I got some homework done by taking mom to go see the scholastic art exhibit at The Wichita Center for the Arts. Such a great show every year. Then we even found mom a dress for the wedding at David’s bridal. I hate that store, but they do have a good selection of affordable dresses. Then we all went to dinner at Hu Hot. So awesome weekend overall. Got lots of much needed relaxation and fun and even some wedding duties taken care of too
I just had the nastiest thing ever happen to me! Ok, let me give you a little history first. I have a super cute little bunny, named Bailey. He has a cage in the living room and is very spoiled, but I also like to let him run around the house and get exercise. He is great about using his litter pan when he is in his cage but when he is running around the house he has decided that the place he is supposed to pee is on the throw blanket on my couch. Which is annoying, but blankets wash, at least it is not all over my house. So, I am sitting on the couch, talking on the phone. Bailey is running around the house. He jumps up on the couch and starts to scratch the blanket so I immediately pick him up to put him in his cage. Only problem being, he still peed! And I must have scared him too because pee went everywhere! I had pee in my mouth!!! Because I was talking on the phone, my mouth was open. I had pee on my shirt, on my pants, in my hair, on the couch, on the originally intended blanket. It was a mess! So gross! So I immediately start phhhhting, and yell Gross hold on Leslie, cause remember I was on the phone. I then rinsed off my face and out my mouth. I then told Leslie what happened, let her go. Then I wiped off the couch and got into the shower. I was still gagging when I got into the shower. So gross! So yeah, now I am clean, but wow, what a story.
I would LOVE to win this house! I am not usually a new house kind of gal, my dream is to restore an old victorian house. But this house is victorian! And so beautiful.
My new year has started off kind of crazy. I had a nice day with David just relaxing. I took a nap and when I woke up I had missed tons of calls from Aubrey. She was in the ER again. So I went to the hospital to hang out with her, they gave her some nausea and pain meds and said that she should not go back to work till Tuesday after she sees her OB. Ok, a little back story, long story short Friday Aubrey found out she was pregnant, started cramping, went to the ER, and found out she was having a miscarriage. After tonights ER visit I came home, was watching a movie with David, and Aub called again. We had to go pick up Travis cause Cary wrecked his new car! I am pretty pissed at him, he could have killed his son and himself, thank god they are both fine. So I kissed David when I got home at 12:30. Hopefully the rest of this year goes better than tonight did. Aubrey really needs things to turn around for her, this month has been awful for her. And I am there for her, but I need her to help herself too.
I went to the Y today. I had my first free meeting with a personal trainer, found out where most things were in the building, and did a tiny bit of cardio. Wow, I am really out of shape. But that is why I am determined to start working out again. That and I am 75lbs. over the weight I was happiest at. About 50 of those pounds have been gained in the last year and a half, no good. I also want to eat better. I am going to try and do this slowly though, if I try to do to much now I will overwhelm myself and stop all together. My goal is to just stick with it and try really hard not to get frustrated. I did not gain all this weight overnight, I am not going to lose it all overnight either.
I am having a wonderful Christmas Break! Christmas Eve was dinner at my Dad’s place. Possibly the best dinner yet. It was also so great to have my little brother home this year. Ian and Donyele were also there:) My little neice is getting so big! She is too cute! She will be 2 this April but she is already so mature for her age. Then Christmas Day David, Mom, and I went to his Dad’s for lunch/dinnner. David’s Dad and My Mom met for the first time. We figured it was about time they met. We have wanted them to meet for some time now, but life just flys by. David spoiled me rotten this year too! I don’t think I could have asked for anything else. Lets see, I got a really cool necklace I wanted, an airbrush for my cakes, a gift certificate for a flight lesson, a gift certificate for a massage, two adorable stuffed otters, and tons more smaller items. Oh yeah, and this laptop! My laptop was a Birthday/Christmas gift. I am so blessed. Mom and I then made tacos Christmas night for Aubrey and Travis so she could have family around this Christmas because her life has been crazy lately. Then on Saturday my family celebrated 3 birthdays. We had so much fun! We just had snacks and dessert at my Dad’s house but lots of people, food, and music usually equals fun. The boys had fun playing the video game I bought my little brother, that made me happy too. Life has been good! I just hope I can get some things done before school starts again. This break is going to be way to short, I can already feel it.
